Introduction

Gillie is a gem, a historic fisherman’s cottage in the heart of old Blakeney village. Nestled in a peaceful loke steps away from the picturesque high street and quay.

Coastal living with on the doorstep, shops, restaurants and cafes, a delicatessen and galleries galore. From the quay at the bottom of the historic High Street you can try a spot of crabbing, catch a boat to Blakeney Point to see the seals or walk the coastal path in either direction and take in the fantastic birdlife and scenic coastal views.

Gillie Cottage is a lovely place to retreat to after a day outside enjoying the fresh Norfolk sea air and will appeal to a couple or two, friends and families. Babes in arms and children are very welcome.

Inside

Through the gated garden entrance, you enter into the bespoke cottage kitchen, with its heritage colours it radiates country kitchen charm.

The lounge is delightful, a seating area arranged around a fireplace, with a wood burning stove and two linen sofas for relaxation. With an antique dining table seating four there is everything that you could need.

The English country style continues upstairs, along the hallway is a king size bedroom with bedstead, fitted wardrobe and dressing table, decorated in Kate Forman linen. The small double bedroom is decorated with Kate Forman’s red rose’s linen. The children’s cabin bunk bedroom is decorated with a striking red ticking fabric.

Two bathrooms; upstairs a tiled shower room with a large walk-in shower, washstand and wc.

Downstairs a well fitted tiled shower cubicle, with a washstand and wc.

Outside

Gillie has a private garden within the loke. A pretty flint wall wraps itself around the front of the cottage courtyard.

The garden is filled with bulbs and baskets and in high summer hollyhocks create a classic country cottage garden.

The kitchen and lounge have stable doors which open onto the courtyard garden, wonderful for spring and summer months.

With an outdoor sofa, lounging chairs as well as a bistro table and dining chairs outside is perfect for drinks and relaxing.

Pets

Dogs by request; please provide details on the enquiry form or telephone. A maximum of one dog with a charge of £40 per booking which is purely to cover the additional housekeeping required.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

A characterful three-bedroom cottage with all the bedrooms located upstairs. A staircase from the lounge continues to the upstairs landing along the hallway is a large king size bedroom with a traditional bedstead, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers, decorated in Kate Forman fabrics. The small double bedroom is a similar style with Kate Forman’s romantic red rose’s linen fabric. Hairdryers are provided in both bedrooms. The charming children’s bunk bedroom decorated with a striking red ticking fabric, is well loved by children.

Practicalities

In the cottage kitchen you will find a hob, oven, fridge, small freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, and a Nespresso coffee machine. The cupboards are well stocked with Emma Bridgewater pottery, glassware, and lots of pans and utensils. The washing machine is housed in in the adjacent outhouse.

Indoor entertainment is provided with a 43” Smart TV with Free Sat and a dvd blue ray player. There is a Pure Evoke compact music system to stream songs wirelessly through Bluetooth and you can also enjoy the CD library of listening books and music as well as film dvd’s.

Bedrooms have hairdryers in each.

Garden is private, enclosed and is east/west facing with garden furniture.

Parking

Gillie Cottage is situated on a peaceful no car/traffic loke. You can drop luggage off at the end of the loke.

Carnser Car Park
This Quayside car park is jointly owned and managed by Blakeney Parish Council and The National Trust. This is a pay & display car park with the exceptions of members of the National Trust who may park free of charge.

Coronation Car Park
Managed by Blakeney Parish Council, this car park on the High Street has two sections, with one side of the car park being pay and display for visitors. You can pay with coins and contactless cards.
